Alle Filmer, deren Ansprüche mit herkömmlichen Camcordern nicht erfüllt werden können, katapultiert die neue NEX-VG900 in eine andere Welt: Endlich setzt nicht mehr die Technik, sondern nur noch die eigenen Kreativität Grenzen, wenn es darum geht, Bilder ohne Farbrauschen und mit kinotypischen Effekten einzufangen.

Volle Kinopracht dank des Vollformat-Bildsensors

Glanzstück der NEX-VG900E ist der 35 Millimeter Exmor CMOS Vollformat-Bildsensor mit einer Auflösung von effektiv 24,3 Megapixel. Größenvergleiche veranschaulichen den daraus resultierenden Qualitätssprung: Der Vollformatsensor ist 40mal größer als die Bildsensoren herkömmlicher Camcorder und noch einmal doppelt so groß wie der APS-C-Sensor der NEX-VG20 - des bisherigen Top-Modells unter den Handycam Modellen von Sony.

Der Vorteil des großen Sensors: Er garantiert klare, rauscharme und detailreiche Aufnahmen, wie sie kein Standard-Camcorder zustande bringt. Auch im Foto-Modus kann die NEX-VG900E ihre Auflösungsvorteile voll ausspielen. Sie fotografiert mit effektiv 24,3 Megapixel und einer Bildqualität, die sonst nur Spiegelreflexkameras erreichen. Alle Aufnahmen können im unkomprimierten RAW-Format gespeichert werden.

Kompatibel mit E-Mount- und A-Mount-Objektiven

Die neue NEX-VG900E ist von Haus aus kompatibel mit den Wechselobjektiven von Carl-Zeiss und Sony mit E-Mount-Anschluss, die auch von spiegellosen Systemkameras von Sony genutzt werden. Entsprechend groß ist die Vielfalt verfügbarer Modelle mit Zoom- und Festbrennweiten. Bei der Verwendung eines E-Mount-Objektivs schaltet die Handycam automatisch in den APS-C Modus.

Um im Vollformat filmen zu können, benötigt die NEX-VG900E A-Mount-Objektive, die sonst an Alpha Spiegelreflexkameras ihren Dienst tun. Die Objektive werden mit Hilfe des Adapters LA-EA3 angeschlossen, der zum Lieferumfang der VG900E gehört. Weitere Adapter verbinden den neuen Vollformat-Camcorder von Sony auf Wunsch mit den Objektiven anderer Hersteller.

Die Vorteile der hochwertigen Wechselobjektive liegen auf der Hand: Farbtöne werden exakt abgebildet, das Bildrauschen ist minimiert und es gelingen eindringliche Bildeindrücke wie zum Beispiel die Tiefenunschärfe, bei der hinter der Person im Vordergrund alles in weicher Unschärfe verschwimmt. Das gibt es sonst nur im Kino.

Damit auch die Übergänge beim Zoomen flüssig und unkompliziert werden, hat Sony eine neue Zoomwippe zur Veränderung der Brennweite entwickelt. Diese genaue Zoomkontrolle kann sowohl für den optischen als auch den digitalen Zoom eingesetzt werden.

Aufnahmemodi und Bildeffekte für alle Gelegenheiten

Bei der Wahl der Filmmodi lässt die NEX-VG900E den Nutzern viel Auswahl. Zur Verfügung stehen 50, 25 und - wie im Kino üblich - 24 Vollbilder pro Sekunde - alle drei in Full HD. Bei Bedarf kann auch mit 50 Halbbildern und im SD-Format mit 720 x 576 Bildpunkten aufgezeichnet werden.

Aufnahmen im verblüffend echten Kinolook gelingen mit den beiden Spezialmodi "Cinema Tone Gamma" und "Cinema Tone Colour". Darüber hinaus stehen viele weitere Kreativoptionen bereit. Die Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten sowie alle neuen Bildeffekte sind sowohl im Film- als auch im Fotomodus verfügbar.

Manuelle Kontrolle schafft Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten

Damit nicht die Technik, sondern nur die künstlerische Kreativität des Filmers der NEX-VG900E Grenzen setzt, können die Einstellungen der Handycam nach Belieben verändert werden. So lässt sich auf Wunsch die Blende oder Zeit frei wählen. Wer möchte, entscheidet sich für eine komplett manuelle Belichtung. Der Weißabgleich lässt sich bequem über einen leicht zugänglich angebrachten Bedienknopf einstellen. Auch manuelles Scharfstellen ist möglich. Alternativ kann der Filmer per Fingertipp auf dem Touchscreen das Objektiv auf das gewünschte Motiv fokussieren lassen.

LCD-Monitor und OLED Sucher für die Bildkontrolle

Als Display verfügt die NEX-VG900E über einen 7,5 Zentimeter (drei Zoll) LCD-Monitor, der sich um 270 Grad aufklappen lässt. Auswirkungen einer veränderten Verschlusszeit und des Weißabgleichs auf das Videobild zeigt er in Echtzeit.

Als zweite Option für den Blick auf das Motiv besitzt die NEX-VG900E einen 1,3 Zentimeter großen XGA OLED Sucher mit hundertprozentiger Motivabdeckung, Dioptrienkorrektur und Farbtemperatureinstellung.

Vielfache Optionen für die Tonaufnahme

Für eine perfekte Soundaufnahme ist die VG900E mit einem Vierkanalton-Mikrophon ausgerüstet, das den Ton im Dolby Digital 5.1-Format aufzeichnet. Es kann aber auch auf Stereo umgeschaltet werden. Die Aufnahmepegel lassen sich manuell aussteuern und werden auf dem LCD-Monitor angezeigt. Wer die Tonaufnahme lieber per Kopfhörer kontrollieren möchte, kann den vorhandenen Kopfhöreranschluss nutzen. Über den neuen Multi Interface Zubehörschuh und den optional erhältlichen Adapter XLR-K1M lassen sich zudem externe Profi-Mikrophone mit XLR-Anschluss mit der Kamera verbinden.

Die neue NEX-VG30E: viele Anleihen von der NEX-VG900

Als zweites neues Modell stellt Sony die Handycam NEX-VG30E vor. Sie basiert auf dem Vorgängermodell NEX-VG20E, nutzt wie dieses Wechselobjektive mit E-Mount-Anschluss und verfügt über einen APS-C HD CMOS Bildsensor mit effektiv 16,1 Megapixel Auflösung.

Wie die NEX-VG900E filmt sie in den Full HD Formaten 50p, 25p und 24p und kann verschiedene Bildeffekte anwenden. Auch der OLED Sucher, die Bedienknöpfe und die neuartige Zoomwippe gehören zur Ausstattung der NEX-VG30E.

Die Handycam NEX-VG30E ist auch als Kit mit dem neuen Power-Zoomobjektiv 18-200 Millimeter (F3.5-6.3), das über einen professionell geformten Zoomhebel verfügt, erhältlich.

It's joined by the Handycam® NEX-VG30E that builds on the success of the NEX-VG20E, sharing the same APS-C image sensor as its predecessor while adding several enhancements.

Handycam® NEX-VG900E

Offering supreme imaging quality and generous creative options, it's the first Handycam® with a 35mm sensor to fully exploit the artistic potential of interchangeable lenses by Sony and Carl Zeiss.

With a resolution of 24.3 effective megapixels, the Sony-developed Exmor CMOS sensor inside the NEX-VG900E is around 40 times larger than the equivalent in ordinary consumer camcorders. It's also more than twice the size of the APS-C sized sensor found in other interchangeable lens Handycam® models.

As well as permitting beautiful ‘bokeh' (defocus) effects with the growing range of α lenses, its high sensitivity assures extremely clear, low-noise images. The large sensor size assures effortless reproduction of the finest tonal gradations, helping the most demanding cinematographer fully realise their creative vision.

The sensor also allows the NEX-VG900E to shoot full-frame 24.0 effective megapixel still photos, with all the quality you'd expect from a pro-class DSLR camera. Still images can be shot in RAW format for total post-processing freedom.

Beautiful, film-like results can be achieved by shooting video in 25p/24p progressive mode, with Cinema Tone Gamma™ and Cinema Tone Colour™ offering precise control over cinematic colour grading effects. AVCHD version 2.0 standard 50p recording is additionally supported, maximising the range of creative options for movie-makers to explore. Even greater flexibility is provided by a choice of new Picture Effect modes, enabling easy creation of artistic ‘in-camera' treatments whether you're shooting HD video or stills.

Video shooting is further enhanced by a ‘seesaw' lever that allows smooth, polished zoom control. The lever adjusts optical zoom when using compatible E-mount lenses that feature built-in zoom drive. The lever controls electronic zoom when using the camcorder with fixed focal lenses for impressive creative results.

As an extra refinement, the NEX-VG900E switches automatically from full-frame operation to APS-C mode when an E-mount or A-mount DT lens is attached. This allows users to get the most out of their collection of DT lenses that are optimised for cameras with a smaller APS-C image sensor.

The camcorder also comes supplied with the LA-EA3 adaptor that lets photographers use full-frame A-mount DSLR lenses at their designated focal length.

There's a generous palette of control options and manual settings to satisfy the demanding video enthusiast. Aperture priority, shutter speed priority or manual exposure, are all selectable and white balance can be adjusted manually to suit the demands of any scene. Iris, shutter speed, and gain adjustments can be easily made via logically-positioned direct access keys. Accurate manual focusing is assisted by the camcorder's pro-style display peaking function, complemented by a one-touch focus magnification button on the top of the grip.

Serious videographers will welcome the detail-packed XGA OLED Tru-Finder that offers high-contrast image monitoring with superbly natural colour rendition. Complementing the Tru-Finder, there's an adjustable XtraFine touch-panel LCD monitor, with Sony's unique technology for high contrast images with rich, deep blacks.

High-quality audio is a crucial part of the HD video experience with the NEX-VG900E. A unique Quad Capsule Spatial Array Microphone features four omnidirectional capsules that can be switched for stereo or 5.1ch surround recording. Recording levels are adjustable, with accurate visual confirmation provided by an audio level meter on the LCD display. There's also a headphone jack for direct monitoring of sounds being recorded.

The new Multi Interface Shoe provides compatibility with accessories including the optional XLR-K1M adaptor kit that adds a high-quality mono shotgun mic and pro-standard XLR connections.

Handycam® NEX-VG30EH/VG30E

Sharing many of the pro-oriented enhancements of the NEX-VG900E, the Handycam® NEX-VG30E succeeds the acclaimed NEX-VG20E. With a resolution of 16.1 effective megapixels, the new camcorder's Exmor™ APS HD CMOS sensor assures outstanding image quality with the range of interchangeable E-mount lenses.

Like the NEX-VG900E, it's possible to shoot smooth, cinematic Full HD video footage at either 50p, 25p or 24p (progressive) frame rates, supported by a palette of artistic Picture Effect modes.

The NEX-VG30E also features the same XGA OLED Tru-Finder, comprehensive manual controls and ‘seesaw' style zoom lever as the NEX-VG900E.

The NEX-GV30EH comes supplied as a kit with the new E PZ 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 OSS Power Zoom lens that provides a versatile range from wide angle to telephoto. Offering smooth, quiet AF operation and Optical SteadyShot image stabilisation, the lens also features an additional ‘seesaw' lever on the barrel for smooth, professional-style zoom control with adjustable speeds.

The Handycam® NEX-VG900E and NEX-VG30E camcorders from Sony are available in Europe from November and December respectively.
