Die Version 1.04 ist schon ein paar Monate alt, ist aber erst seit kurzem (heute?) als Download verfügbar. Das halte ich eher für ein streitbares Beispiel von "Produktpflege" und "Support".

heute mittag wurde auf der Seite die V1.04 beschrieben, aber die V1.02 als Download ausgeliefert. Heute nachmittag wurde die V1.04 beschrieben und auch ausgeliefert. Mittlerweile ist wieder nur die V1.02 verfügbar. Klasse Leistung... /wacko.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="wacko.gif" />

Interessant, das habe ich verpasst. Sollte die 1.04 nicht nur für bestimmte Kameras (im Sinne von Seriennummern) gedacht sein und deshalb nicht allgemein veröffentlicht werden, auch sonst keine Änderungen an den features bringen? Welche Infos standen denn beim download der Vers. 1.04 dabei?

Ich brauche das Update nicht, habe keine A100. Danke fuer das Angebot!

Ich wollte nur sicherstellen, ob es die 1.04 jetzt tatsaechlich zum Download gibt oder nicht.

bei dpreview gab es mal Aussagen, daß die V1.03 u. V1.04 Inkompatibilitäten mit gewissen CFs beheben sollten.

DSLR-A100 - Body with firmware version 1.00, 1.02 or 1.03
DSLR-A100K - Zoom lens kit with firmware version 1.00, 1.02 or 1.03
DSLR-A100W - zoom lens kit with firmware version 1.00, 1.02 or 1.03
DSLR-A100H - Zoom lens kit with firmware version 1.00, 1.02 or 1.03

How to determine the firmware

Slide the power switch to the On position.
Press the MENU button. The MENU is now displayed on the LCD screen.
Press the (Display) button.

A window will show the firmware version on the LCD screen.

If the firmware version displayed is 1.00, 1.02 or 1.03, you need to update the camera.
If the firmware version displayed is 1.04, you do NOT have to update the camera.

Computer and hardware requirements

You need a computer that meets the following requirements:

One of the following Operating System:

Microsoft Windows® XP Home Edition/Professional
Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional
Microsoft Millennium Edition
Mac OS X (v10.1.3 – v10.4)

A USB port.

A card slot compatible with:

Memory Stick Duo/Memory Stick PRO Duo.
CF (Compact Flash) cards
Microdrive

You need one of the following recording medium:

A Memory Stick Duo/Memory Stick PRO Duo* with at least 16MB capacity.
* "Memory Stick Duo” will be the term used on this section.
A CF (Compact Flash) card with at least 16MB capacity.
A Microdrive.
Note:

When using Windows 98/98SE, USB connection between the camera and computer is not possible. Therefore, your computer should have a card slot, or a card reader which is suitable for your recording medium.

Download and Installation instructions

Step 1 -Download the firmware update to your computer.

Make sure no program is running.
You must accept the terms of the End User Licence Agreement at the bottom of the page. After reading this agreement, click "Accept”, a window will pop up.
Click the "Download it” link corresponding to your Operating System.
Save the file to the Desktop of your computer (recommended).

Step 2 - Extract the downloaded file.

Double-click the downloaded file to extract it. Depending on your Operating System, the file maybe automatically extracted.

The two following files are created:

DSCA100.app [file size: 1,817,968 bytes]*
DSCA100.str [file size: 162,168 bytes]*

* The file extension may not be visible depending on your Operating System settings.

Step 3 - Copy the update file to the recording medium (Memory Stick Duo/ CF card/ Microdrive).

If your computer has a card slot compatible with Memory Stick Duo or CF card or Microdrive:

Insert the recording medium formatted with the camera in the card slot of your computer.
Copy the update files (DSCA100.app and DSCA100.str) to the root directory of the recording medium.

If your computer does not have a card slot compatible with Memory Stick Duo or CF card or Microdrive:

Insert a formatted recording medium into the camera (make sure the recording media is formatted with the camera, not with the computer).
Insert a fully charged battery (NP-FM55H) into the camera or connect the AC adaptor to the camera.
Slide the POWER switch to the On position.
Press the MENU button to display the Recording menu.
Select the setup icon with the controller ( ), then press the Centre button of the controller to display the Setup menu.

Check that "Mass Storage” is chosen in "Transfer mode” in the Setup menu. If this is not the case, set the Transfer mode to "Mass Storage”. Select the Transfer mode with the controller ( ). Press the ( ) on the controller to display the options available in this mode. Select "Mass Storage” with the controller ( ), then press the Centre button of the controller.

Press the MENU button to exit the MENU window.
Connect the camera and the computer with the USB cable that was supplied with your camera.
Copy the update files (DSCA100.app and DSCA100.str) to the root directory of the recording medium inserted in the camera.
When the file is copied, disconnect the USB cable.

Step 4 - Update the camera firmware.

Important: When performing the firmware update, use a fully charged battery pack NP-FM55H or the AV-VQ900AM AC adapter/charger (sold separately).
Do not remove the battery or the AC adapter during the firmware update process, otherwise the camera may be permanently damaged.

Insert the recording medium Memory Stick Duo/ CF card/ Microdrive containing the update files into the camera, then slide the POWER switch to the On position.
Press the (Playback) button.

The confirmation window appears.

Use the controller ( ) to highlight "Yes”, then press the Centre button of the controller. If you select "No”, the operation will be cancelled.

The update procedure will now start.

When the update procedure is completed, the following window will be displayed. Turn off the camera and then remove the recording medium.

Step 5 - Check the firmware version.

Slide the power switch to the On position.
Press the MENU button. The MENU is now displayed on the LCD screen.
Press the (Display) button.

A window will show the firmware version on the LCD screen. Check that the version displayed is "Ver. 1.04”.

Important: If the firmware update could not be performed, contact Sony . After the camera was updated, format the recording medium or delete the update files (DSCA100.app and DSCA100.str) from the recording medium.

Die "U"-Variante arbeitet auch in den Kameras für den US-Markt (daher das "U".

Was macht das Upgrade überhaupt?

Das wird bestimmt nicht alles sein, aber damit ist eigentlich anzunehmen, daß auch das europäische Firmware-Upgrade in Kürze wieder online sein wird.

Hab meine A100 heute auf 1.04 gebracht und gleich mit dem CZ16-80 getestet.
Ich meine mir einzubilden (kann mich aber täuschen, weil ich ja
nicht mehr mit der 1.02 vergleichen kann), dass die Fokussierung
bei 16mm (bisher ein echtes Ärgernis) nun präziser arbeitet.

Deshalb bitte an einen anderen im Forum. Bitte den Sachverhalt vor- nach FW
upgrade mal etwas sinnvoller anzugehen. Aufgefallen ist es mir besonders bei
Blitzaufnahmen in Innenräumen.

Wäre schön wenn jemand das mal genauer testen könnte.

Auch interessant ist, daß es vier (statt drei) Firmware-Varianten gibt: Japan hat eine eigene mit der Endung "J", die allerdings keine Sprachauswahl bietet, d.h. die Menüs sind immer Japanisch.

Trotzdem könnte diese Information - unabhängig von Firmware-Updates - auch im Hinblick auf die A700 (mit und ohne Griffsensor) interessant werden. Kennt jemand die EAN/JAN/GTIN-Codes der verschiedenen Varianten? Ich würde sie gerne in die Hinweise über den jeweiligen Foren aufnehmen, so daß die entsprechende Unterrubrik automatisch unter den Treffern erscheint, wenn jemand diese Codes z.B. in Google eingibt.

Ich habe zwar keine A100, aber ich will kurz zusammenfassen, was ich andernorts (dyxum und dpreview) über die Auswirkungen des Firmwareupdates gelesen habe:

1. AF schneller und präziser
2. Weniger Rauschen in den JPGs, aber JPGs dafür etwas weicher.
