Sony hat heute mit dem E 3,5-6,3/18-200mm OSS LE (SEL-18200LE) eine Art "Light"-Version des silbernen E 3,5-6,3/18-200mm OSS (SEL-18200) vorgestellt, die in schwarzem Gehäusefinish daherkommt. Etwas kleiner und 12% leichter besitzt die neue Variante eine etwas andere optische Konstruktion mit einer schlechteren Nahgrenze von 50cm (gegenüber 30-50cm) und damit auch einer kleineren maximalen Vergrößerung. Die neue Version hat ein E62-Filtergewinde gegenüber der bisherigen Version, die mit einem E67-Gewinde daherkam und weiterhin im Programm bleiben soll. Preislich soll die neue Version etwa 40 Euro günstiger liegen.

Eine nette Überarbeitung, aber bei weitem nicht die dringlichste Baustelle im System, zumal das entsprechende Tamron immerhin einen so erheblichen Preisvorteil hat, dass ich nicht lange nachdenken würde, welches Objektiv ich kaufe...

Das doppelte Lottchen ist schon etwas merkwürdig, ein Telezoom bis 300mm oder ein Makroobjektiv oder ein Weitwinkelzoom wären vielleicht angebrachter.Aber mit der nex F5 sollen ja laut SAR noch E-Linsen kommen.

Laut David Kilpatrick basiert das neue SEL-18200LE auf einem Tamron-Design:

Noch zu klären ist, ob es eine neue Objektivfrontkappe für das E62-Filtergewinde des Objektivs geben wird oder ob die normalen ALC-F62x-Kappen auch passen werden.

Damit die NEX-5R und NEX-6 (sowie zukünftige Gehäuse mit Hybrid-AF-Unterstützung) dieses Objektiv auch in Verbindung mit Hybrid-AF nutzen können, ist ein Firmware-Update notwendig, das Sony ab heute (2013-02-05) kostenlos anbietet. Leider muß das Objektiv dafür an den Sony-Service eingeschickt werden:
