Thanks for the kind replies.


There's a brand new 50/1.4 RS sitting in a local shop for $275, but I just have a sneaking suspicion that any day now Amazon will lower their price on the Sony much closer to $300. For that difference (and I could wait for it), I suppose I'd rather have the D version.


Also considered one of the Sigma 1.8s for a lower price, but not sure from limited reviews available.
